Default S2000 Still Turning Heads

I attended the International Auto Show in Seattle yesterday, and spent much of my time checking out the other roadsters - Z4, Boxster, Sky, Solstice, MX5, SLK, Corvette, XLR etc... No worries; I left with my love for the S2K in tact.

The thing I noticed is that, despite the S2K being around since 2000, it still drew the same size of crowd as any of the others, and more than some.

As an aside, I got to see the Solstice and Sky twins up close for the first time. I don't know how they drive, but I can see why their roof and trunk have been panned in the car magazines. The trunk is a joke, even with the roof in the up position, and the roof is a huge hassel to take up and down. The manual top on the MX5 is much more user-friendly.

GM just plain sucks at engineering drop tops. The Sky is cool looking and I hear it's fun to drive, I just couldn't live with NO trunk and a stupid top that you have to get out of the car to operate. Mazda is the king of topless engineering simplicity.

I went to the show as well and I agree. It had just as many people lining up to sit in it as most of the others. I got to check out the new things on the 06/07 and the only new feature I liked was the leather; it was more supple and looked like it wouldn't get worn out as quickly as my 03's (looks worn at 30K!). Everything else they can keep including the wheels, ugly interior changes of all AP2s (radio door, center console, gauges), and front bumper. On another note, it was nice to sit in a Fit; I'm still trying to convince the girlfriend to wait out the high demand and dealer markups instead of going with a Scion xA.

i knew i wasnt the only one that felt the dbw lag.
and aronparsons, i dont know what your talking about, the ap2's look way better than the ap1s. specially the 06's with the full headrest instead of that hole and the 4 extra speakers so you can actually hear music when top's down, the 10 spoke rims, bigger wider dimensions, a driver's seat that actually fits me comfortably, and cooler looking round guages... most importantly, i get my torque sooner than the previous ap1's

coolness. The international auto show comes to Orlando in the end of November, I always make it. I love checking out the new cars, and I always smile and go pay special attention to the s2000
