JHMAP...yada yada...X...yada yada...vehicle number. Exactly the same as the VIN on the dash. Located (etched) on every piece of glass on the car. I also know there are stickers on the hood, trunk, door jambs, and rear bumper (as well as other places). I have no idea why mine are different from yours, it must have something to do with those "Stop-A-Theft" stickers plastered on the windows. There isn't any way to cover these VINs up unless I want to put black stickers on the windows or I want to grind them out. Fat chance of that happening.
There is no VIN number on my windows. Any of them. I bought a car a few years back that had some other number etched on the windows, and the dealer tried to get me to pay to have the number put in their database so that if the car was stolen, it can be traced to the VIN number. Of course, that's a waste fo money.
Rworne: Is it possible that your dealer does this as an added feature on all cars it sells?

Obviously we cannot speak for all dealers and all dealer personnel across the country, but in general, Honda and Acura dealers will not make a key from a VIN unless the car is present. It's not that easy to walk into a parts department and give a VIN and say "I left my car at home, make me a key"
That sucks to hear. But I'm willing to bet it was simply loaded onto a flatbed.
