I would see what warrenty it really has. You may have a 2 year on the SC from the manufacturer but I suspect your Engine and Drivetrain warrenty will be voided and not honored by Honda even if the dealer adds the SC. The dealer may provide a warrenty in that case but you better get it in writing and plan on staying in the area.

You indicated in this thread:

that you could get this S/C'd car for $34K. So why would you ask if it's a good deal for $37-$38K? Or are you jerking our chains?

dude you're opening up a HUGE can of worms with that car. Buy a stock new one for 30 grand and learn how to drive it. More than likely you'll realize you don't need a supercharger. You're obviously young and either spending a lot of your own money on this car or a lot of your parents' money. Either way i don't think you want to deal with possibly having to replace very expensive parts. No matter what anyone's opinion of superchargers is, one thing that's for sure is your risk of having mechanical problems will be greatly increased. Couple this with the fact that you will no longer have a warranty and you leave yourself in a very bad situation.

I thought the beauty of the comptech sc was that it didn't void the factory warranty?

yes any supercharger at any boost can fawk stuff up. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it will happen, or even taht it's extremely likely to happen. BUT you are way more likely to have a problem once you go with forced induction, not only with the engine, but for everything else down the line that you're now transferring more power to. Also, if the dealer tells you that it will still be under warranty GET IT IN WRITING!!!!! make sure that the entire warranty will still be valid. I find it hard to believe that honda will warranty a supercharged car, but i don't know for sure.

A stock S2000 should be fine until you learn how to drive it. If you want it, go ahead and rip yourself off.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought it was a bad idea to install aftermarker FI so early in an engine's lifespan. If I were interested in doing this, I think I would wait until after 10-15k miles, to make sure the engine was well broken in.
