Default S2000 Tire Temperature Data Logger Video

I cobbled together a tire surface temperature data logger and ran it on track with my almost stock AP2.

While what you made is very impressive and cool, I think you should use your talents to answer less obvious questions.

Nice job!

1. This is all well beyond my experience -- but not beyond my curiosity!

2. Would a lower tire pressure spread the contact patch and bring the inside edge into better contact with the road? Intuitively with a wider contact patch the outside edge would not be providing more than its fair share and not heat as much. (This is all subject to #1 (above).

Thanks!
Six months of my last year was wasted on failed designs and software nightmares. I have a box of failed designs and the bottom side of the board looks like a child designed it with a crayon. It feels cobbled together.

I am open to new ideas. What are some less obvious questions you have?

The next video I make will probably be about brake temperatures. I have already collected some data using all stock brakes. I will have to see what the data shows after upgrading them.

Thanks.
A lower tire pressure should flatten out the natural shape of the tire surface. Lowering the pressure should bring more of the contact patch into play as you described. On this car, I don't think the pressures could be lowered enough to overcome the entire shortfall of negative camber.

I don't have many ideas off the top of my head, which is probably why I'm not a content creator lol

If you are going to be testing brakes maybe see if these do anything

https://honeddevelopments.com/produc...air-guide-kit/

maybe also the efficiency of mounting ducts like in the link below vs traditionally mounted ducts and if there are any side effects of increased water temps

edit: another thought
According to the study on a DC5 in this article

https://occamsracers.com/2019/05/23/splitter-design/

A splitter and tire spats alone should make more downforce and less drag than a splitter, cr lip, and tire spat combo. if you could test that somehow that would be awesome

I had no idea that product existed. That brake cooling duct is exactly something I can test.
Thanks for the suggestion I just ordered the kit.
