Strange but in all my years of ownership I've only seen two S2000's driven by girls, and I've NEVER seen a girl driving a Miata. My sister in law even owns a Miata, I've just never seen her driving it. She's a cool chick who likes sports cars, and the only other girl I know who is knowledgeable about my S is a really hot lingerie/swimsuit model, so it doesn't bruise my ego one bit that my interest in cars is shared with a female.

The only car I've seen so many girls driving that I think it's a girl's car is a BMW 325i.

What this list actually represents is the top ten cars that guys think are chick cars, as it was chosen by the readers of an auto site. Whether or not the cars actually are chick cars is of no consequence.

If you look at the comments at the end of the article these guys are fans of muscle cars and trucks.

Personally I think any car that comes ONLY in 6 spd manual with a 9000 rpm redline, rwd and a crap stereo is actively trying to turn away the female driver.

Out of curiosity I did some looking and found this:

LA Times article about the cars with the greatest percentage of female buyers.

1. Volkswagen Tiguan
2. Volkswagen Beetle
3. Hyundai Tucson
4. Kia Sportage
5. Nissan Rogue
6. Volvo V50
7. Volkswagen Eos
8. Honda CR-V
9. Nissan Sentra

And this one that looked at registration numbers.

1. VOLKSWAGEN NEW BEETLE
2. NISSAN ROGUE
3. HYUNDAI TUCSON
4. VOLKSWAGEN EOS
5. VOLVO S40
6. HONDA CR-V
7. KIA SPORTAGE
8. TOYOTA RAV4
9. NISSAN SENTRA

These lists are missing some cars I expected to see (Fit, Jetta, V6 Mustang). They do seem far more plausible though.

based on anecdotal evidence from the various places i've lived, some other cars that others haven't mentioned yet are luxury japanese SUV's (4Runner, Lexus RX, etc), Mercedes C230 hatchback (for the up-and-coming career woman in her late 20's, lol), and late 90's accord coupes (always seems to be a chick for some reason...) and usually Toyota Prii.

that said, as mentioned before the 3 series, Tc, and V-6 droptop mustang are by far the most I see that are not on the list.

props to any chick that wants to drive a high-revving, tight-handling, 6-speed, rear-wheel drive roadster. it won't hurt MY ego...

Fit?! Really?! I see mostly old people driving Fit, usually old grandfathers. Some young kids, high school. And I drive one too lol.

I actually see more girls driving RX8 than any other cars.
