Default S2000 Trunk Rack for Bikes and Snowboards?

Just wondering if anyone has found anything recently that would work for our cars to carry bikes and snowboards. I am on the verge of buying a Chase Race hitch setup but I would be looking at around $500 for everything.

Any other ideas besides buying a beater or using a friends car?

I wouldn't trust a trunk rack to not scratch the paint. You'll be alot happier with the hitch or a beater.

getting up and down the hill top down? that's style my friend

depends what trunk rack you are using and geometry you set it at, for being a good bit lighter than 2 full size mountain bike i doubt you will dent anything if you do the tension right

Trunk racks to carry a bike are terrible its going to scratch the paint and/or dent the trunk, get a hitch you won't regret it and you can find ones much cheaper than $500

Yes, you can find them much cheaper than $500, but take care what you're going to be attaching. If you think you're going to be towing a trailer, get a hitch that's sturdy and doesn't simply weld/bolt to the trunk floorpan. If you're just going to be carrying a lighter road bike/snowboard/light MTB, you should be fine too. If it's a DH bike, I'd get something stronger.

I don't know but IMHO I just don't think the S2K is one for hauling trailers, bikes and such. It is a driver oriented roadster for road fun. I think we should have a different car for such tasks.

You should see (back again to search) all the various towing threads.
