Default S2000 type V

I was searching for info on a the web concerning S2000's and found a Japenesse honda site that lists a Type V. I cannot read Japenesse so I could not get any details, the only thing that was obvious to me was a different sterring wheel. Is this something new, that may be coming to the US? Or something that has been in Japan.

Thanks for any insights,

Rob

The Type V is a JDM market car only. It will not be exported. The steering system is different. Those that have driven it don't like the steering, other then the cool wheel.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I am planning on finalizing a deal on a new S2000 Monday, and was just doing a little bit of last minute research.

Thanks,
Rob

The steering response changes dependant on speed. If you are going slow it is 1.4 turns lock to lock . At higher speeds it is more like standard steering.

It also has slightly different suspension and traction control (at least according to TK, but then his posts were a little dubious).

all i want is that wheel.. can anyone with japan connections (ben, rick, etc) perhaps look into ordering just the wheel? how impractical would the application be?

i'm thinking about putting a type-r sticker right next to it - who knew that steering would help me get horsepower?
seriously though, i'm not a big fan of advertising BS, cause invariably someone will prove you to be a fraud... but the wheel doesn't claim a darn thing

I believe Rick looked into it once but the spline is completely different so it won't fit a standard S. The reasoning was that if someone had an accident in a VGS with non-VGS wheel (or vice versa) they might claim that was the reason for the accident.
