for a GREAT video of the S2000 doing an 8:12 (BTG) lap of the 'Ring, buy the Best Motoring International vol.1 videotape; the bonus footage is at the end of a 1-hour video documenting the history of Honda Type-R! That means NSX-R, Integra R and Civic R!

Nice videos! Thanks for sharing them. Interesting to watch the heel and toe action. In the first vid when the S2000 is passing the IS300 on the inside it was interesting to watch the S2000 driver slip the clutchl and feather the gas pedal with no shifting. Would this be done to induce oversteer?

I've seen that video with the S2K and the Lancer and it's a tough race. The Lancer has the advantage of all wheel drive and turbo but the S2K doesn't make it an easy race! It's a really cool clip. Tape sells for 20 bucks but you might be able to find it through some fileshare programs.

my favorite part: the s2000 gets a bit oversteer, scares the red silvia which in turn pushes the mr2 into grass! hehehe
as for the clutch slipping while passing the altezza... im sure it wasnt to induce oversteer because, as close as he was to the toyota (~10in?), the last thing he would want was the tail to come around
i think he didn't want to downshift (at the time, he wanted both hands on the wheels, as would I), but as he was in too high of a gear from not downshifting, the engine would bog if he didn't let the clutch slip (to keep the rpm up)
also, he was already accelerating out of the corner - but he didnt want 100% power so he feathered the throttle and slipped the clutch - common practice

Nice videos ... thanks. Though, a small correction - S2000 does not do 8:12 at the 'Ring ... more like 8:30 and I have not seen a time quicker than 8:39 yet.
8:12 is quicker then Viper and 3secs of F360.

ok ok, i reviewed my BMI tape, and it in fact wasn't an 8:12 BTG, it was an 8:14 BTG. sorry
BTG = bridge to gantry, as in it does NOT include the straight (Dottinger Hohe)
