S2000 vs Civics racing
Yes, these videos are good and I've always been a fan of Best Motoring content especially when the S2000 is featured
Now imagine if Tsuchiya-san was in the S2000? He would have won the race in the S2K. Whenever these races happen and I see him in a Civic or something else I know he's going to either overtake or stay ahead of superior cars like the S2K simply because he's a better driver than the guy driving the other car lol.

...It's a civic type R though...
Its not just like...a normal Civic that's able to outpace S2000's.
A track prepped sedan can usually outpace a normal sports car, up to a pretty high bar.
Also....Best Motoring is staged lol. Its about drama and showmanship to a large extent. Its like watching WWE or something.
But it doesn't surprise me that a Civic Type R is faster than its contemporary S2000 rival.

I don't have anything definitive because they'd never give out their recipe.
Some of the footage is sped up in order to make it more exciting.
You can usually predict which car will win (that's easy, because they start in a reverse qualifying order). But they hype up a certain car and make sure it somehow claws its way up to the pole at the last minute.
Gan san or Keichi almost always drive the winning car. Maybe they're just better drivers though?
A car can win the battle its supposed to...but end up sandbagging on another episode which favors another car.
They showcase each car's strengths/weaknesses, no doubt. But watch closely...and some of it seems way too convenient.
But...staged or not. I'm not surprised that a FD2 Type R or Mugen RR are beating stock, base model/type S S2000's.
I think a FD2 CTR would probably out-run a stock S2000 CR.

Watch enough of them and you'll see it too lol

2. Never got the feeling that any of their races are staged. Mugen RR is heavily worked.
3. Nope. Stock for stock, no way unless Tsuchiya-san is driving the FD2 CTR and its on a tight circuit with minimal straights like Ebisu. The only time I've ever seen one beat an S2000 (and by a small margin) was a Mugen RR which as I said above is heavily worked by Mugen. They put that up against a totally stock AP2.
