Question S2000 vs. Deer

Here is a long story short.

Was driving, and about 1 mile away from my house a deer jumps out in front and was 5 feet from hitting my 05 rio S on a 2 lane road. Nobody was coming on the other side and there was a ditch on the right. I swirved violently to aviod the damn 500 pound thing and it just Shyted itself while I was thinking about how i am starting to spin out of control in to the ditch its self. I landed rear first (thank god) My car would not start because its mufflers where submerged. Nothing was bent or cracked or broken. Just really really really dirty. I was wearing sandles also when i took a step into the mirky ditch. Anyhow the deer escaped into the wilderness unharmed just like myself. My father pulled me out of it with his F-150 and I left the tow hook on my S now, i think it gave it character, mabey tommorow ill take it out.

To make it worse its friggin cold here!! I know its Florida, but hey its too cold too late for my S to go dead on me.

I hit half a deer after a semi split it in two. I had to dig brains and bones out of my radiator.

Good thing you didn't screw up your S.

REVHIR -

WHere are you in FL? I am in Tallahassee, and it got down to 28 last night! You were lucky with the deer! I had a friend total is Civic due to a head-on-head collision with an older Buck. The deer did not "freeze" like they normally do, it actually CHARGED his car! Antlers STRAIGHT into the radiator / engine compartment, then the deer rotated aroundits head, which was now firmly planted into his radiator, and landed on the roof and crushing the SH*T out of it. Took the insurance adjuster 10 mintues to tell him it was totaled!

Deer SUCK! I guess they are just getting back at all those hunters!

Tell me what part of the us has 500 pound deer and I'll call my red-neck cousins in the South to tell them where they are.

In about 4 weeks your deer problem will be over!

I've had similar run-ins in other vehicles over the years. I swerved to miss a dog once and went into a guard rail. After being cited for the accident, I was told by the officers, don't ever swerve to miss an animal, it's always the drivers fault. Just hit them and let insurance take care of the rest.

Insurance will cover damage if you hit the animal, but they won't cover damage incurred if you avoid hitting them.

If you guys have deer problems, you can get this whistle that makes this reallky high pitched sound that only they can hear. It attaches to the side mirrors or wherever wind can get into the whistle.
