I love my S2000, but I am a realist. As far as "smoking" a new Boxster S, unless you have some serious mods, you'll be the one getting smoked. The S2000 is fast, but not REALLY fast. My Evo (300whp) was MUCH faster.

I was expecting that. Call out. Who is going to be the first to smoke a new boxster? There are several hundred S2000s running around that could smoke the new Boxster. Stand by.

There's no question that the new Boxters are fine cars. But in terms of value, the S wins hands down.

If you're hung up on the elitest part that comes with a Porsche, go for it. If you want the best value for a roadster and a much friendlier community of owners, get the s2k!

BOXSTER S

I wasn't willing to spend $52,000 on a Boxster, and I certainly wasn't willing to spend $10,000 more than that on a Boxster S. But that's because I have limited funds with which to indulge myself, and cars are not my only indulgence (telescopes/CCD cameras are expensive, too). However, I have no doubt that the BS is a lot more car. Only you can decide whether you want to spend $60,000 on a car, but you certainly would be getting more car for your much greater expenditure.

If I'm going to spend that much, I would wait a few months and buy the new Z06.

Crap man. i was all set on saving up for a used s2k. but i caught this boxster s on the cross island parkway today. it was drop dead sexy. guy in his 50's with a small kid in the passenger seat. I didnt know the car was already in owners hands!

You ever have those moments when you see a car for the 1st time and are breathless. This type of car makes me want to stretch myself at work and make/save money.

Just wanted to mention that it's impossible for a 3k lb. 280hp car to accelerate 0-100mph in 12.3seconds. The correct number would probably be 13.3.
