S2000 vs S15
Has anyone driven both cars before?
both have very similar characteristics...
S15 - 181kW to S2000 177kW
both rear wheel drive
both are six speed
the S15 is 2.0L turbo though with 275NM of torque..
i think its a better comparison that the much over-elaborated S2000 vs AudiTT debate...
brand new its the price of the Integra-R here...what a great performance buy!
here's the link of you don't know what the S15 looks like:

Kinda looks like a Nissan, Do I see 200SX on the back?
If that is the case, In North America, the Nissans aren't to quick, but can be modded nicely. It's a sharp looking car, but I have no clue what its all about.

That is Nissan Silvia, or what we call here 200SX. It has 146kW (195hp) here. The Japanese version has the same max power as the S2000 (240hp), though the 200SX has a fair bit more torque. It also wights the same as S2000.
The local (146kW) 200SX competes very well with the WRX and CommodoreSS. It is an excellent handler and has very good speed (best time I've seen for one of these is 6.35 for 0-100km/h, 14.54 for 400m). There have been a few tests of 200SX and WRX and the 200SX wins even though the WRX posted marginally better 0-100km/h and 400m times .... though, in all instances the 200SX moves quicker, it's the WRX launch that sees it ahead in here.
Recently they had the 200SX on the track here. It was on a track with WRX, CommodoreSS as well as BMW330ci and Z3 3.0 (auto). Laptime wise the 200SX, WRX and ComodoreSS were equal as there was about .3 sec between the 3 cars. The 330 happened to be over 1sec quicker and believe it or not the Z3 3.0 (auto) was almost 2 seconds per lap quicker.
Anyway, in straighline the S2000 should be quicker, but the 200SX will hold it's own ... if you're caught bellow 6k revs then the 200SX will actually get ahead. If you keep the S2000 at 6k+ revs then you should be pulling away from the 200SX at all times. On a track, the S2000 should have good 3secs per lap edge (at least acording to the numbers I got here).
ps. The 0-1000m run was covered by the 200SX in 26.5secs and had terminal velocity or 204km/h. Best 0-1000m time for the S2000 that I have seen is 25.5, though, the S2000 is doing barely over 200km/h (202km/h if I'm not mistaken).
pps. The 200SX times clocked that day were very quick as the 3-4 previous tests clocked the 200SX at no better than 6.9 0-100km/h and 14.8 400m run.

Interesting to note that the s15 was voted perf car of the year here in aust.
The jdm version which is superior (ie 184kw) is crud on the track bog standard - aftr a couple of laps teh turbo overheats. The s2k has trouble gettin around it, but once ahead of it it will lap way quicker (see Bestmotoring).
I have driven the 145kw aust version. Contrary to the mags, i find that there still is turbo lag, and my teg has better throttle response. Yes it is quick, and it kicks the crap outta the s14, but... it aint no s2k
Mind you, it is a prime candidate for modifications - please if anyone has one, do your suspension first b4 boosting the engine and killing someone
