One of my buddies has an S3. While I love both cars, the stook is much more of an enthusiasts car. From the handling to the brakes, the stook is a true drivers car. That and there is nothing finer than cruising around with the top down. I've stopped counting the stares I get on a daily basis.

Comfort and noise should not have been a consideration when buying an S2k. It's not a luxury car. As for the electronics, who needs all that crap? It just adds weight

You should buy what makes you happy. This is something for you to know. I have no idea what turns your crank so how can I answer?

The S2000 was never designed to be your ONLY car, only your BEST car!

It can't: haul kids, pets, skis, motorcycles, horse trailers, or even very many groceries. It's no good for a dump run or to take the inlaws out to dinner. It's no good for a quick run to the mountains including the last few km on rutted dirt roads just before the trail head. Even clad with snow tires, it doesn't match a similar front wheel drive car in winter.

The S3 does many of these things better than the S2000, but I bet it too is a bit anemic in the horse trailer hauling department.

The S2000 DRIVES better than any other car its price or cheaper, and better than almost all cars double its price. At least it drives better than those cars until it doesn't and crosses its limits. When it does that, watch out.

I found this info on the S3 from a www.google.com search:
http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/newcars/audi/s3/389381.html

The S3 has fewer ponies, fewer valves, fewer ccs, fewer pounds/lira. It has more doors, more cargo, and it has a better view around when compared to an S2000 with the top up.

If I were 23 and were buying one car, I'd want a more versatile car than the S2000. But that's just me. I would want a car to go car camping and to go to ski areas and to occasionally haul four or five people and to carry bicycles, motorcycles, skis, fishing rods, backpacks, and even sometimes junk.

However, I can imagine there are some 23 year olds who only want a car to DRIVE and could care less about transporation. The S2000 may be mediocre transportation, but, it is a GREAT DRIVE!

I'm 23 and I luv my S I do not drive it in the winter (5mos a year here), i can grocery shop with it (single), heck I even took it to Costco on one of my quarterly restocking runs.

It can haul 1 passenger and limited cargo

It gives you an unobstructed view of the heavens

It looks Sweet!
Rides like it's on Rails
and sounds like a racecar

My car's a Honda

And It ROCKS!!

Take the S2000 down to the Algarve and you'll be glad you didn't get the Audi.

Hey Black/Black, I know we've emailed each other on this before but I have to ask again why you're buying the S2K if you're going to drive it around with a hard top all the time.

In my view, the whole 'raison d'etre' (excuse the French ), for the S2K is roof off high performance driving. If you don't plan to spend a substantial percentage of your driving time roofless then I think the S3 may be a better bet for you.
