Default S2000 Weight Limit

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and really really want to get a question clarified. I feel stupid for believing this comment that I saw on Edmunds.com regarding the S2000 but this guy said...

"Everyone wants to race you. 20+ mpg in the city. read warranty manual closely. only carries 400 pounds including passengers. "

400pounds?!?! If so, wow, I have heard many people with rear bearing failure problems, and I by no means know alot about the S2000 (which is why I came here for info), but would this bearing problem be associated with too much weight on the vehicle?

Just lookin for some incite on this "problem" TYIA

Yea it says 400 pounds. Never knew what the outcome would be if you ignored that.

Where have you heard about so many bearing failures?

400 pounds is correct. Good reason to lose weight and a good excuse to be choosy about passengers.

I think wheel bearing failures have more to do with high cornering forces. It's not related to cargo weight, I think.

I also seriously doubt that carrying over 400lbs will cause any issue - as others have said above, it's done fairly regularly with no problems.

I think Honda puts that in there in case somebody tries to tow their jet ski or whatever to the lake, breaks something and tries to get it fixed under warranty.
