However, my family believes i should get a different car and the only other one i thought about was the sti not the evo8 because my brother is going to buy that one so i need some help please

Depends on what your looking for. If you loved the car previously I dont see why not. The only thing my S leaves me wanting is a stronger diff/clutch and some more power. Other than that, I love it, its drop dead beautful, handles like a dream, and is just a great car. The STi on the other hand is fast as hell, just ugly as sin.

well, if your brother is getting Evo...get the S because STIs are same class as Evo and similar. i would get something different like S again. You can always drive Evo.

Although the EVO and STi are in the same class, they are two totally different vehicles in my eyes. The STi is technically advanced while the EVO is still all mechanical. The STi is an all out powerful beast while the EVO is nimble and quick on its feet. The quick steering ratio of the EVO makes the car feel even more go-kart like then the S2k. That said, I still think you should go with the S2k. Its got awesome build quality and Honda reliability. Not to mention that its way more fun to drive and chicks dig it .

if your looking for stronger tranny/rear i'd buy an Evo and you guys can be the Evo Brothers .... the STi i hear has an inherently weak tranny, even though it feels good to me...

I'm debating the same thing... i'm going for an S2K assuming my wrangler beater comes through... if not, i'll be driving a White Evo

Actually the STi tranny is far superior than the EVO tranny. I think you're confusing the STi tranny with the normal WRX tranny. The two are completely different and can't be compared.

If you're seriously interested in an evo, hang around www.evolutionm.net for a month and try to obtain as much information as you can on the car. Do the same for the STi but go to www.nasioc.com.
