What would it take to field some type of S2000online or S2Ki sponsored race team? I know nothing of professional auto racing. However; the thread about getting the word out about S2Ki got me thinking. I know there are some S2000's out there doing some competitive racing. What would it take to get some type of S2Ki sticker on some of these cars? I think members of our S2000online community might be willing to donate to some type of race sponsorship fund. I'm not talking required dues of any kind, but a completely volunteer donation via pay pal to some type of central S2000 racing sponsorship fund. Perhaps we could even get our board sponsors or local Honda dealerships to donate as well?

Just some random Friday morning thoughts.

Contact KING MOTORSPORT or TC KLINE and ask them!!! They already have the parts in place and will be more than happy to take sponsorship money.

Remember racing operates on the principle of OPM ----- other people's money!!!

OK, here's my 37 Chinese Renminbi's worth...I am obtaining sponsorship right now, actually. We have it all pretty well worked out. I'll announce that whole situation shortly. It's a very nice arrangement...you will all know soon enough.

As far as s2ki.com sponsoring...we would love to do such a thing, we just don't have any money! We would be more than happy to lend support in any way we can, just not monetarily. This means letting people use logos, broadcasting about people who promote us on the site...things like that are most CERTAINLY welcome.

One of the things we are doing is getting custom helmets made and we will be putting logos and stuff on the helmets...let us know if you are interested in doing something like that. Our URL on your car, on your racing suit, on your helmet, etc. We would cross promote you and your car as much as we possibly could through having part of the site about you, your car, your experiences, etc...

As we continue to grow, we will be looking more into financially sponsoring people who help promote our organization...this is where we are at this point.

How does that sound?

Racing is expensive... very expensive. We are running stock-class autocrossing, arguably the cheapest form of motorsport, and still looking at a $35-45k yearly budget. Granted we are doing all the National/Pro events... but still, it's autocrossing! And that number doesn't include car payments... ouch!

Running a good World Challenge or Motorola Cup car (that's what King and Comptech are running these days) costs upwards of $100k PER CAR! Plus transporter, car purchase, travel expenses and salaries. Plus, Plus Plus.

I'd love to run S2KOnline or S2Ki stickers on my car at all the ProSolo and National Tours, not to mention SoloII Nationals. I can almost guarantee (I hope anyway) to get pictures in SportsCar magazine because our car is yellow. I don't need any cash in return, 'cause I know C3 can't afford any!

Sponsorship in lesser known classes of racing is cheaper than most would think .

Greg you have the right idea with cross sponsoring that is prob how most smaller teams operate.

For instance I know a company that was a full sponsor of a Nascar Craftsman truck for a entire season for the price of painting the truck about 10k for the year.
