Default S2000s at Mecum Auction

Watched a 2003 Suzuka go thru the Mecum auction on tv Thursday. No mileage listed but it had a patched top, large scuff on the rear bumper and a single sided exhaust I didn't recognize.
This is the first time I've seen an S go thru one of the tv auctions. They also called it a modern classic; which is a complement since our cars aren't their cup of tea.
It got me looking into Mecum's website and they had four S2000s roll thru during the week (only the Suzuka sold). I wonder if more of our cars will be rolling thru Mecum/BJ auctions in the future?

I think you will see mecum doing more in the future. They are a lot less selective than BJ.

I'm sure we're going to see some ultra low mileage cars start to pop up at bigger auctions. They're out there. Especially CRs.

I highly recommend attending a Mecum auction. I have taken my son out of school to attend the one here in Indy on occasion. Great fun to both see the auction action and all of the cars that are going / have been on the block.

Default S2000 at Mecum

I was at the auction and looked at this S2000. It had 134K miles. Went for $7000 + $700 buyer fee = $7700. Not a bad price for a well broke in S2000. I think it was brought in by a dealer with other cars. If you wanted to buy a couple "cheap" MB coverts, this is place to buy... As low as $3000 for 2005...

I saw that car for sale about a year ago in Clearwater. That car doesn't look half as nice in person as it does in photos. A quick check of their website and they still have it

That one went for $67xxx plus fees last week. Not an indicator of increased value but rather a really strange bid.

I thought it went for $71,500.
Starting price was $70,000 which leads me to believe there ware more than one bid/buyer??
