Default S2000's Unique VTEC System

I read in a Honda Technician's Information Guide that the S2000's VTEC system is the only one that'll engage at 0mph, where as other's won't. Is this true?

That would help with the 6+K RPM clutch dumps for standing starts...

Maybe the variable valve timing aspect of VTEC but variable lift engages at 6k rpms. I thought VTEC has a 3 stage variable valve timing system unlike iVTEC which is constantly changing.

The variable valve timing is a function of the variable lift. Switch in the high-speed lobes and it changes not only the lift but also the timing. Both are fixed, however, which where I-VTEC comes in, varying timing over the whole range.

Interesting. That standing starts theory makes sense though.
