I didn't respond to your previous post. I do think, though, that you asked for it with your "attention getting" title. You don't need to be histrionic to get good opinions here. Just ask.

One being that there arent many cars that I've ever driven that can compare in any reguards to my former baby, Jazmine ('98 M3/4) under $100k. But the S2000 is definitely one that rivals the e36 M3's abilities, and for pennies when you look at bang for the buck and reliability
Sorry my friend but I'm just not sure you are ready for a performance car. Nothing you have ever driven under $100k can compare to a E36 M3?? Your joking right. Have you only driven Hyundai's and Kia's or something? I stomp on modded E36's almost every night here in Houston, especially in the Woodlands area. I drive a 2002 Z28, which I bought it January, and already I am trying to sell it in order to purchase an S2000. For one it doesn't have the build quality that I am looking for rigidity wise, and I don't want to replace the wheels, shocks, springs in order to get it to handle the way I expect a car to. However it does have straight-line performance in every sense of the word and is a total joy to drive. As far as your comments go implying the S2000 may be unsafe; I am sorry to break it to you buy every car is unsafe(including your precious Jazmine) with an unconfidant driver. It is all about driving skill. Has always been about driving skill, and will continue to be about SKILL. If you are not confidant enough to be driving a car like this please do us all a favor and don't get one. It would be awful to find out that you either hurt yourself or others. I apologize if this response comes off a bit harshly but you can't just go posting statements, wording them as if they are true, as "attention grabbers." It is not going to do anything to help the tone of your post.

whitelightening,

Whew... you are very lucky to come away unscratched, with the passenger rollbar cover torn apart, etc. It's truly a solid car for a rag top - no doubt about that. Glad your around to share the story.

Jschmidt... I only wish that were true, I've asked before on this forum for safety information and have gotten next to nothing in response. So the "attention grabber" technique obviously worked and i'm not sorry I did it. As for Honda606's post. Now that I've finished laughing: "I stomp on modded E36's almost every night here in Houston, especially in the Woodlands area. I drive a 2002 Z28, which I bought it January, and already I am trying to sell it in order to purchase an S2000. Did I say the e36 was the
FASTEST car under 100k? I dont believe so. I said NOTHING drives like it. Im talking about BRAKING, HANDLING, COMFORT, PRACTICALITY, POWER AND CONFIDENCE INSPIRING CHARACTERISTICS combined. I'm not your typical cocky ass BMW driver. I could care less that it's a BMW. I love the car for what It is. The ultimate driving machine. And you can rival that statement with opinions and testimonials all you'd like. But I owned one for 4 years. And until you've owned, hell... driven one extensively; you cant possibly know what I mean. For those that have owned one, they know exactly what I'm talking about. There's a reason in 1998 the M3 was rated the best handling car, period. Dont believe me, read the (I believe its the May of 1998) Road and Track magazine that declared it as such. And I dont base my opinions off of a magazine article. I've driven CLK430's, Supra Twin Turbo's, Mustang Cobras (eww), Camaro SS's and so on. They're all great cars in their own respect. But when I look at all around greatness. The S2000 is the only car out of all the cars I've driven that is in the same league as my M3. (Affordability is obviously a factor, otherwise I'd go buy a 911 GT2 *drool*) Please dont waste my time with your petty posts of street racing in your z28, as that is not even close to what I consider important.

Congrats on your decision! My previous car was a 98 M3 as well. Safe or not, State Farms seems to think so as my rates have dropped after I got my S2000.

BMW(2000 323i) owner here as well and your definantly right about the M3 deal. No car feels the same. I went and test drove and S2K yesterday and I was more than inpressed. It feels as good as the Vaders(M3/2) and has a good feel although the shifter is COMPLETELY different. Hard as balls to Rev-Match in the S2K after driving the Bimmer. Fun car. I am VERy biased on BMW's and I honestly believe a S2K is going to be my next car. BTW my handle on Bimmerforums and DTMPower is whakiewes.

Your not?? Did you read the six sentences you wrote after the first one? Let me respond to this silly attempt at response by replying with one of your own quotes.

Now that I've finished laughing
And now for...

You have obviously never driven a Z06 Corvette, Carrera 2, Carrera 4, Supra TT, etc. etc. These all fall in the under $100k and can easily squash the E36 M3 in every category you listed above. Speaking of categories..."Inspiring Characteristics?"

Sure it isn't you fool. Thats why you referred to the GT2 in your post with your gay little drool exclamation. Go home to your BMW forum and keep Jazmine warm. After all, she is the ultimate in the under $100k price range.

honda606 - I see that you have been a member of this board for a short 128 days. I'm here to tell you that you are making an ass out of yourself. Keep it up and you will be the one going home to keep your SS warm...

Honda606, please just stop responding to this thread. You are missing CosmosM3's point. You just don't get it and you really probably never will. You are also really descending into the gutter with your responses.

Please just vacate this thread. We will all be much appreciative.

Yep - I traded a 1997 M3 for my S2000.

[QUOTE][i] For those that have owned one, they know exactly what I'm talking about.
