Anyone hear of the new Honda S2200??? I hear it's gonna be a concept car for next year... any early photos of it?

Hey! Thanks for the scary welcome!

 

The S2200 is the name we(most of the collective owners of the 00-03 models) wanted the S2000 to take once it switched from its 2.0 heritage roots to the newer 2.2L motor starting with the 2004 model. The history behind the name S2000 is something you will have to research but it made sense to the rest of us that the car's name be changed to S2200 but that didn't jive apparently with Honda marketing.

There is no S2200, never has been an S2200, and more than likely there will never be one because the 2.2L motor has already been released.

 

Are you sure about that? I read that they are coming out with the S2200 concept car at the 2005 autoshow in Detroit??? Am I nuts?

i think that the 2.2L engine are only in the US market

the '04+ models have the same 2.0L 9k revving engine here ```

 

I don't think I'm qualified to say whether you're nuts just yet but yes, I'm sure, there will be no S2200.

It's technically already out and is known as the North American S2000 with the 2.2L the rest of the world doesn't get.

 

Ok... maybe I'm just high.
