Sorry if this is a repost!

Saw an article in the new Car and Driver...talking about the 2004 S2000 being bumped up to 2.2 liters.
Same horsepower, more torque...and a lower redline.

Has this been verified?

Dunno if this counts, but my friend's brother-in-law works for Honda. And over the weekend, his family was visiting. My friend told him that I was thinking of getting the new S2000, with the 2.2L engine. And he said, "How did you know that?! " We said, it's all over the place. And his wife told him, "You have all this stuff in your head that you think is confidential, but it's really not." Haha.

I have another friend who works for a local dealership, and he said that some reps came from Honda a while ago and stated that it would have the 2.2L engine as well.

I guess we have to wait 'til Honda actually publishes it. But I believe it...

My Uncle owns a Honda dealership. He claims to know nothing about it.

Yep...I have also learned to give rumors a second thought.

I remember there was a crapload of people bashing on the guy that said the 2002 s2000's would have a glass rear window. Remember that? Pretty damn funny...

Man, you've not followed all the hub-bub have you? Honda announced new colors and the 2.2L engine to the dealers in the 04 model lineup.

New engine: yes
New styling: yes
New coupe/convertible/t-top configuration: unconfirmed
New yellow color: yes (Rio Yellow)

I think that the S2200 is a reality. I'm not sure about the name, but I'm sure that the car will be changed.

I'm just trying to decide what color combo I want this time around.

Slightly off topic here, but...

Unicron: how are you enjoying your M Coupe?

Helios,

It's a 2000 model...and so far I like it alot bud. I am really glad I did the trade.

I do like the s2000 driver interface better...maybe just cause I have been driving the S2000 for 3 years plus.

Here's the new S2200 (Coupe - No Convertable)...

2.2L - 250bhp - 0-60 around 6s

It looks smooth - but having the convertable is well worth not having the "new."
