Default S2k = FUN

For various reasons I have not driven my '02 Suzuka Blue S2k for the last two weeks. Baltimore today had perfect top-down S2K driving weather. Warm, but not hot, perfect blue skies with a few wispy white clouds, so I took the afternoon off work and took an extended spin on my favorite twisty country roads. What a tonic for the summer doldrums. Forget the mods, the TSBs, and other annoyances that are mentioned so often on these boards. The car perfectly suits what I am looking for on a great summer afternoon. I could not have asked for more. The car took the curves perfectly, shifting beautifully, and accelerating out of the curves wonderfully. I had a great time, and was so happy that I can this car to make me forget the stuff of daily life.

Yep -- if there was a day tailor-made for this car, today was it. I'm planning on taking Thursday off and taking the family to the Inner Harbor, but who knows? Maybe a little backroads driving can also be arranged.
Glad you had fun!

Just the stuff you want to hear about your next car. I can hardly wait for days like landefam just spoke of.

Try cruising the starry country landscape after midnight with the top down and you'll see even more of the S2K's brilliance. Glad to hear you had *one of those days* reversed from it's usual meaning.

ayS, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the '03 GPW S2000's will be available with red interior. From what I've heard, the red interior will be replaced with tan. I have yet to see a picture of the new interior though.

yeah, I use my s2000 as a daily driver, and I can't get enough of driving it. I find excuses, no matter how lame, to drive. I have read so many threads about mods and all that, and sure I want to add a little more "umph" but it seems the cost outweighs the gains of the modification. So I just decided (for now, heh) that the car is perfect as is, and that if I just absolutely have to buy a mod for it, it will probably be an impulse buy. For you soon-to-be owners, rest assured, you will absolutely love driving this car.

Everything costs. The more you take out the faster you'll run out. It will be reliable for a while then the extra strain will take its toll. I would expect you'll get 50K good miles out of a FI motor, 100K out of an NA. I'm just guessing of course, there is no exact answer. To do it right you need new pistons to lower the compression from 11:1 down to something more sane for FI. FI on an 11:1 ratio engine is pretty extreme.

landafem, glad you posted this. Today is definitely the day to drive the S2K with the top down here in VA/MD/DC. It's been hot or humid or raining past few weeks.
Let's say that today's weather here in VA/MD/DC is like how it is in San Diego, CA all year round. I miss SAN DIEGO! For you guys/girls who are out in the La Jolla area, you all are blessed with the perfect weather.

I'm at work now, but all I can think about is which road to take home.

God is good.
