There is a difference. People that clam inside info I take with a grain of salt. Gbaker clams that he has a S2000 MY2002 sales brochure. He therefore is the first person to see it in writing. That is a lot different than the "I think I know post". Has anyone else seen the MY2002 sales brochure? Does he work for the printing company?
After all this controversy... I just made another phone call today. According to the main Honda representative for the U.S. (located in CA) the 2002 S2000 WILL have a rr GLASS window!
As previously stated I have one on order mainly for the reason of this change (ordered last month loaded in the new silver, with no CD changer and no factory sub-woof *new*).
Take it for what its worth but I doubt you can find a source that is more weighted then the "main man" for Honda U.S.

Thanks Dave for confirming what I have been saying for 6 weeks, namely that the 02 model WILL have a glass window. My info came from Honda as well. All those people who keep saying "it's only a rumor" and "it's not official", well what makes it "official". If it comes directly from Honda officials then as far as I'm concerned it's official. Do I know how they did it, whether the window is smaller or folds, no I don't but apparently they figured a way.

I imagine honda NA sitting there reading this thread and laughing their ass off...
honestly I don't care either way, I already have mine car... and that piece of glass/plastic is nothing to get worked up on, like many of you are. If it retrofits, and cost just a few bucks to do, I might think about it... if not, who cares.
But just to add another funny thing.. what if the janitor said "I work at American Honda head quarter and I heard...." do you believe him?

Yep, they sure are!!
Anyway, I've been saying for quite a while that I was told by a reliable source that there will be a glass window in 2002. I'm not sure who has talked to who, but my source is very close to the S2000.

At first, I hated the plastic window. Cheap in nature, hard to see details (Mr. Law at a distance) with the crease lines. After the dealer called me and told me I could pick up a Honda S2000 "rear window cleaning kit" (free of charge) I began to like it better.
I had a few scratches on it from lowering the top with the windscreen not positioned fully upright. The awesome S2000/3M kit with (2) compounds and special clothes brought it back to brand new condition. Yep, all scratches are gone.
If you need info on the kit look at my post on "Cleaning the Rear Window" on this "Car Talk" forum.
BTW: I heard that same janitor has some stock tips for you too! Not to mention wants to sell you some dual-overhead chromed-fluted-titanium high-preformance muffler bearings for your S2K.
