Based on your post I don't think you should buy any S2000.

If you want a meaningful response you may want to give more details... otherwise I'm going to assume you're simply trolling. "This old man"?? LOL... sounds like the beginning of a bar joke.

I sincerely apologize if I came off as too ignorant for the likes of you. I suppose if I knew all there is to know about s2000s, it would be me insulting new people on the forums instead of asking for help, right?
I say old guy because he is an older gentleman and there's probably less chance that he thought it was a "kewl" idea to red line his car. I'm not trying to insult or belittle older people. There are no modifications on the vehicle, it is bone stock. It is the original light blue color (i'm not sure what it's called). It's a 2002 model (ap1) with about 93,000 miles on it. As far as I know there are no flaws or minor issues aside from regular wear and tear. Inrweioe and body look to be in good shape. Just wanted to know if the price was in a good ball park and what I should watchout for when I go to drive it.

Getting back to OP's request, I would recommend getting a maintenance service history if possible. It also goes without saying that you should put any car you buy through a PPI. If everything checks out, I think $7.5k would be a decent price.

If the car checks out ok, it is an amazing deal! The Suzuka Blue ones usually aren't the most sought after and tend to sell for a grand or so less than most other colors but I'd expect a nice one with that kind of mileage to go for 12-13k. Take it for a drive and see if the gears shift smoothly without grinding. I have read that the early cars sometimes had synchro issues. Take it to a mechanic and have theem check it out and do a carfax. Post pics if you can.
