HI All, sorry for the short notice
Honda R&D is sponsoring a S2000 design project at ART CENTER COLLEGE of DESIGN this semester starting this week. The students will take 14 weeks to produce styling proposals including sketches, clay and digital models for what a next-gen S2K may look like.

As part of their research activity, the students will need to meet and talk to the actual customer...that's where you come in.

Honda R&D would like to invite members of the S2000 community to show their enthusiasm and S2000's at a meet THIS SUNDAY, May 22 from 9am-Noon at ART CENTER College of Design (Hillside Campus at 1700 Lida St., Pasadena, CA 91103).

In addition to the students, Honda R&D members will be on hand to meet with you and discuss your S2000 experience.

I am currently arranging the details:

FOOD : yes, complimentary sandwiches and sodas at around 10:30a.

PARKING/Display space : currently the plan is to use the sculpture garden which is nice green concours grass...bring your cameras! Limit will be 30 cars.

Please post on the signup list here:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?act=S...=0#entry5570698

if you can attend and I will update with more details shortly!

Thanks!

Mike

Sounds like bad news for all those S owners who have wished for the demise of the S I guess huh?

Thanks for your enthusiasm...if you like, post your S2000 wishes here and I will make sure the students and R&D people see it.

Socal S2ki members...maybe notice is too short but the response to this event has been a little slow. If I could ask a favor, please forward this thread to your fellow S2000 drivers in your area.

Has another S2000 been greenlighted to come out in 20xx? Of course, we can't say...however, the people who can influence that decision are WATCHING THIS PROJECT.

HONDA R&D is asking for your input as a customer...searching threads and reading focus group results do NOT make a great car. Talking to the customer does. Come by, meet a few people, show off your car (and yourself), and maybe, just maybe...you will influence the future of this fantastic vehicle!

I know this discussion comes up a lot, but I was really, really, really hoping that Honda would go out on top with the S2K. I really don't like when companies eek something for all its worth, and by the end it's just not the same as the original. And not just in cars... stupid, shallow movie sequels; sports heroes that should have retired years ago and went out with a bang; etc, etc.

Oh well.

Perhaps Honda will simply continue the S line. I think that would be awesome! An S2500, perhaps? Then everyone would be happy. We'd have our classics and Honda (as well as those people who have to have the latest thing) would have their updated sports car.

Is there a way for us to see the finished projects when all is said and done with? I love seeing other people's ideas and sketches when it come to automobiles.....
