I would not enter mine out of the sheer fact that I want to keep all the lovely parts in one piece; however, the S2000 is perfectly capable of drifting. You just have to know what your doing.

The s2k has almost perfect weight distribution making it a great handling car but noticeably harder to drift properly. An over powered vehicle with a bias, usually towards the front is much easier to keep in a drift. The S2K will happily enter a drift, but one wrong move and you are spinning.

S2000s make great drift cars, but it takes work. What Willie said about the neutral handling is right though - its harder to drift an S2000 than some other cars.

This car had the gas tank moved out back for weight, and the electronic steering was replaced as it slows the steering ratio at speed, making it hard to throw the car out. Its also boosted, so it gets better power in lower rpms.

Another reason the steering system has to be changed is because it's variable base on speed.

One important thing to remember about drifting, is that it is a judged sport, like figure skating. Real motor sports are judged with a stop watch and a lap count.

They do drift. They don't produce enough smoke while drifting.

imo, the S was more of a street car than a drift car.

The amount of assit is variable, but not the ratio. Only the JDM Type V has that function.

I've watched a episode of Best Motoring and there was a drift between the new Miata and S2000. One pro-driver was learning how to drift, before he could advance to the S2000, he had to master the control of the Miata. The reason was because the S2000 had a much higher cornering speed/grip.
