Yes, it's hilarious. A sporty 4-seater that had won multiple awards and wasn't a dime-a-dozen like the Integra, which was more popular with the 16-year wanna-be racers.

The fact that it performed just a notch below the hard to find Integra Type-R while still be a liveable daily driver with plenty of space that you could actually look like an adult in was just a perk.

I didn't really see what was so damn funny either.

If it was simply that I called it by chassis code "BB6".....We S2000 owners call our cars "AP1, AP2" constantly on this board.

Were you pointing out that I made the mistake of financing a car back in 2001?
No, I was agreeing that the OP should buy an S2K with cash.

Sink the money into your business. It takes money to make money.

Ok, what was the reason for also quoting "BB6"? That's where the confusion came from.

do what you will, it's better to have loved the s2k, than to never have driven it at all. Maybe it will motivate you to work harder and earn more, insurance is a bitch and if you're driving around without collision, ur asking for trouble. Replacement parts on a crashed s2k are expensive as hell, what seems like a small fixable accident can balloon to thousands of dollars, burn ur clutch and ur looking at nearly $1k for a quality job.

i thought i could afford it with a $38k job, but i really can't, not after expenses and debts.

Some people pay more than $300 per month in insurance for the S2000.

I wouldn't want to have zero wiggle room if something breaks (or you need new tires).

When I bought mine with cash in 2006 I was making about $35K a year.... It's not how much you make...it's how frugal you are with what you have, how much your bills are and will be in the near future and whether or not you have debt.
