Default S2K Fixed

Hey guys,

About a couple weeks ago, I got my s2k back from the shop. In short, repairs and labor amounted up to $23,000 USD. Luckily my insurance covered the cost minus the $500 deductible. The car looked absolutely new. It looked like the car had never experienced an accident. Kudos to Seidners' Collision Center for the work. Anyway, I've been driving it for the past couple weeks and all seems fine. I haven't really been able to test it due to weather conditions, but I plan to follow according to plan in the near future. I know the car is probably not the "same", but I'm wondering what exactly does "same" constitute. I'll try to add a link where I described the damages in a previous post. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks

from previous post : "To make a long story short, I was involved in a 1-party accident last night in the heavy rain. The front of the car received most if not all of the damage. The rest of the car practically remained unscathed, no broken of even shattered windows to be accounted. My front right tire appeared to be the only one flattened and its wheel was slighty scratched. The whole front grille is crumpled, both headlights were gone and my hood was still attached but its sides were propped open making it look like a wave.

I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences in which the car was still able to be fixed. I talked to one of the managers and he said it's fixable; it's just a matter if the repairs will outweigh the value of the car or not. I have full coverage insurance and I know the blue book value of a 2003 Honda S2000 is around 20k. So I'm hoping the damages incurred do not exceed that amount.
Well that's all I can say for now. Sorry I don't have any pictures."

edit: I read the report wrong; actually repair costs were $16,000. Blue book value was $23,000. My fault.

Your car SHOULD have been totaled... They are SUPPOSED TO total cars if the damage exceeds 70% of the value. Which in this case it does. You got ed.

The "same" depends on what damage was done to the car. If it's structural damage or frame damage then it will probably never be the "same".

If it was all cosmetic or engine damage then all that can be replaced.

$23K sounds like it was destroyed!!!
