Wondering if anyone out there has leased their S2k. What kind of downpayment, monthly payments should I expect to pay?

There's a payment calculator on the Honda website. Very useful.

No tax deduction for leasing? Then take out a car loan. Much cheaper

Are you planning on a lease to own? Why lease when you can own?

I just priced a lease from my credit union on a MY2001. Basically for $2K down and purchase price at MSRP, 2 yr lease would run $530/mo and 3 yr lease $480/mo. Hope this helps.

Lease vs Purchase choice

Many factors (residuals, monthly payments, down $, etc..).
We lease a $50k+ landcruiser for $655/mo with a 71% residual after 3 years. I have ZERO intention of buying the truck...... if i had purchased it, i would have needed $20k down, paid sales tax on the full amount, plus the hassle of trying to sell it, etc...

Thanks for the information everyone. The last post indicates why I would want to lease, it gets me into the car at the amount of monthly payments I would like to pay, without having to pay a lot of down.

I tried Honda's calculator, and it was giving me around $430 a month on a 3yr lease at MSRP with 2000 down.

I also talked to several dealers and they are advertising around the same price, but for 5000 down. But I didn't really sit down and haggle on the sale price, which they were putting at several thousand above MSRP.

Looks like if I shop around a bit, I should be able to get the lease amount that's indicated on the Honda website!

Got mine at $565 a month on a 3 1/2 year lease with $1000 down. I believe the price was right at $36,000.

---check at the dealer before you commit... we actually leased the landcruiser through SOUTHTRUST BANK, but it was at the Toyota dealer. Toyota wasn't willing to give out a 71% residual (who the hell would pay $38k for a 3 year old used landcruiser??). My guess is that South Trust Bank will not sell the truck for anything more than about $35k -too bad for them eh!
