S2K....Nothing but an Expensive Desk?
Been a while since I've posted here. Been busy with the new little one amongst other things. However, I saw something today that instantly made me feel I must share with the old gang.
I am getting an oil change (Honda of Bellevue, WA for those that care) and since the dealer is doing a massive remodel, there is no way for me to really see my car. Thus, I decided to wait in the showroom. The showroom has one S2K in it, a 2001 yellow model. I am there waiting for about 40 minutes and during that time I witness no less than three salespeople use the trunk of the new S2K as an expensive desk in which to lay their papers and write up gods knows what. One guy literally did an entire deal on the back of the car!
I found this entirely disgraceful for two reasons. One, this is a car to be respected and admired not treated as a reject from Office Depot. Second, the act shows their own hypocrisy. On the one hand they tell you how "special" this car is and thus how much OVER MSRP it's worth and how that is really a great bargain. On the other hand, their actions show that apparently it is not so special that any cracker can't just go up and use it to do paperwork.
Not like I needed yet another reason to have little respect for Honda sales. Good grief.

it's only a car.............it's only a car.........its not a holy relic to be washed in deionized spring water.
I know the car is special to you guys and I have no problem with the affection that you feel, but being someone who has been through three horrible accidents and luckily walked away from them.........(whispering) its only a car........

Honda in general needs to understand that they now have a "luxary" car. That is something over $30K. Owners of the cars tend to be a little more picky. I know I am. Their entire attitude needs to change similar to that of a Acura or a Porsche dealership. The last time I took my car in it was scratched by the mechanic who changed the oil. I was so pissed.
They need to pay attention to detail. I've read all the nightmare stories on this board. Oil caps not getting screwed turn tight, etc... Hell, my dipstick was put on backwards. These kinds of mistakes make me wonder what else they did wrong.
Honda needs to come teach US dealers how to treat cars of this caliber and how to service these customers. I'm tempted to find an Acura or Porsche to take my S2000 for servicing.

If you were to clearly examin your car every time you take it back from the dealer (for service or repairs.) You will notice there's a mistake some where on the vehicle. No matter if it's something small, or something big, there's always something. It's almost as if the dealer's trying to leave a trademark or signature on your car. Just from my personal experience.
