How many of you experience this...

You spend the better part of 2 days washing, waxing (2 coats no less), and cleaning your S2000 and then you feel too anxious to drive it. You've gotton off every water spot, you've removed bugs that you thought would never come off, you've polished the wheels and removed the brake dust...and now you just park it and don't drive it anywhere!

This has happened to me several times now. I would love to get out and drive around in it today, but I know I would get dust and bugs all over it. I can't stand to see it dirty or think about spend 2 more days cleaning it and taking care of it properly.

Also, I'm beginning to think I should consider trading it in on an NSX. I'm not a ragtop fan and the S2000 is so pretty that I'm afraid to drive it and I've had it for over a year. I also wouldn't mind having a car that sounded a little more like a powerhouse when it idles and feels more like a powerhouse when it accelerates.

The alternative would be to get (on a waiting list for) a hard top and wait for a turbocharger, but so far I've been waiting a year for the TC and its a no show. Are there any NSX owners who can give me their opinion on which car they enjoy the most?

I feel something similar. I spend HOURS detailing the exterior and interior and it gets dusty instantly. Not mention how fast the wheels get dirty. Always seems to be a puddle waiting in someone's driveway where I drive too. Or someone washes their windshield ahead of me in traffic (great, more spots to wax out!).

It's been said before...Get the California Car Duster. This thing works great, swipe it over your car when it get's dusty, and you will find it spends a lot less time being washed and much more time being driven. It dramatically reduces the amount of car washing I do!!!

Someone posted her that it is highly suspect that the California car duster will scratch your clear coat up like a California beach

I like the duster. Workd great on a black car. I believe that if your car is properly waxed I dont think it could harm the clear coat. Shake it out periodically to clean. If it does scratch they must be very fine, I can't see any after about 30 uses. I bet a swirl remover or buff would deal with any fine scratches.

I use the CA duster every time I take my baby out. This thing is the reason my car stays so mint everytime. I do not have ANY scratches on my baby and I highly recommend this to any of you guys. If you do not have one you are sadly missing out on keeping your stooks clean.

Is it a sculpture or a car?

It is a sin to NOT drive it because it might get dirty.

It would be like never letting a newborn baby out of the house because he might grow up and get hurt.

It is a car....

It really is a car.....

It really is not a sculpture, but it is a car .....

It is one car that looks great, but when driven acts even better than it look !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drive it. It will love you for it.

I agree with you Barry, but around here if you drive it and it has a fresh wash and wax on it, they all look at you like your driving a Ferrari. Of course its not a Ferrari, but I've noticed a different look when I drive it and its dirty. -sigh-

I guess I'm doomed to mow the grass every saturday and wash the car every Sunday.

BTW: noone with an NSX replied... I'm curious how the S2000 and NSX compare as far as driving experiences go. I have an idea...but it helps to hear it from someone who owns both.
