Post S2K Restlye/Replacement in the future

Does anyone know of any major design changes or restyles in the future for the S2k? I an considering a purchase however I would like to get the newest and best one if possible and will hold off if there is something newer coming in the future... 2-3yrs out.

Only thing I have heard so far is the model will be dropped in 2007.

Anyone in the know please feel free to chime in.

Ok, I'll save you a bunch of trouble since you're new.

There are 50 of these threads posted every month and you're probably about to get flamed.

To answer your question though, nobody knows or has heard anything for the future of the S other than wishful thinking. Discontinuation date is arguable as well and may be this year for all we know, but again, that's what they've been saying since it came out.

Now please lock this thread before the others get to you

Muahahahah... we're coming to get you!

(Quick, edit your post! The comment of wanting the "best" one will be sure to generate some flak.)

OK, I'll chime in,

They don't sell the 'best one' any more - that was obviously the '02-'03 models - glass window, 5 more hp, better speakers, and most importantly Sebring Silver, although the later years can claim that as well.

Um, excuse me but EVERYBODY knows that the BEST model made is the '01 GPW red/black.

Its also the most highly sought after, has the highest retail value and goes faster than any other.

You are correct!!!

The story is...Honda will keep the current body style but will increase the engine displacement. It will grow from 2.2L to 2.4L in 2006 and will still put out approx. 240hp. However, the redline will now drop from 8300 to 7300. Due to so many owners "clutch dumping" their cars, Honda will no longer offer the slick 6-speed tranny. All future S2Ks' will have automatic transmissions. Honda hopes that by equipping these cars with autos, it will discourage those who want to drag and track their car. Thus, eliminating needless warranty claims. I also hear the Honda engineers have decided to drop the current 17" wheels and replace them with 15" all season wheels and tires. I think it has something to due with unsprung weight issues and softer ride quality...Anyway, I have already placed my order for a new 2006. The automatic tranny, better ride quality and 7300 redline is going to be SWEET

Sorry, the best is the MY2000 GPW, because it was the rarest and it is the original.
