Default S2k for RHD 98' Spec ITR?

I posted this in the So Cal forum and thought I would post it here too to get feedback from the folks that frequent this forum

My buddy Steve and I were talking and he is strongly considering trading his 98 Spec RHD ITR (registered and titled in the state of California which is not an easy or cheap task) Straight up for an S2K (prefers an AP2 or possibly newer AP1).

Here's pics and a description of the car :

The car no longer has MF10's on it, but it does have 2 sets of wheels (USDM ITR wheels and a set of gold Works). Plus quite a few mods and almost all the OEM parts.

My question to you guy's is, do you think it is doable as a straight up trade? I told him there are lots of fans of the Type R's but did not know how many S2000 owners would consider a trade like this?

Let me know what you guy's think

Note: this is not a for sale thread this is just a thread to see what the majority of S2000 owners would think of such a trade?

its a cool car, but i dint think anyone would trade. the theft on a itr is to much of a problem.

For me its a toss up. The car is rare and in good condition. I would do it if I had a beater and could keep the S (I would probably just try and by it out right though).

The high theft rate is definetly an issue if you cant safely park/store the car. That sucks that thieves actually control us as to what cars we would buy due to theft rates

its a cool car but most s2000 owners have prob had integra's or civics before and know its a downgrade. right hand drive in the u.s. is more of a novelty

for me i would say no, just because its a fwd. plus, its an itr, it would be stolen within minutes of ownership

a great car indeed.
