Default S2k - Stopping Production

A LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE SALES ARE NOT WHAT THEY WERE EXPECTED THEM TO BE THAT AFTER 2002 HONDA WILL STOP MAKING S2Ks.

HE WAS PROBABLY JUST B.S.ing ME SO I WOULD BUY ONE RIGHT AWAY. HAS ANYONE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS??? IS THERE ANY TRUTH TO THIS RUMOR.

THAT MIGHT NOT BE A BAD THING SINCE THOSE OF US WHO ALREADY OWN THEM WILL NOW HAVE COLLECTORS ITEMS.

I'll believe it when I see it. Those of us that bought 2001 models were told by the salesmen that THAT was going to be the last year for our beloved Stook. However, I wouldn't want to chance it and lose out on a great car. They may be collectors any way. I hope.

YOU BELIEVE WHAT THE DEALERS TELL YOU??? (oops, no need for me to shout.) sales people have been pulling that BS line since the 2001's came out. they just want to sell the car NOW. read the threads, and the car mags and you'll get a pretty good feeling that these cars will liely be around for a few more years.

Actually Honda stopped making the S2000 early in the 2000 model year, and we have all been buying thinly disguised Hyundai Tiburons. Happy to set this awful rumor straight.

If it was Plaza Honda or Bay Ridge Honda, I wouldn't believe anything they told me.

YOU KNOW ABOUT THOSE A-HOLES AT PLAZA HONDA??????

I HATE THOSE SCUMBAGS!

WHEN I ORIGINALLY WENT THERE I WANTED TO PUT THE CAR UNDER MY NAME BUT I WASNT APPROVED FOR CREDIT YET THEY STILL WANT TO KEEP MY DEPOSIT. I AM STILL FIGHTING THEM FOR IT.

SO I ENDED UP PUTTING IT UNDER MY DAD'S NAME AT A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP.

SO BECAUSE THEY ARE SUCH JERKS THEY LOST A SALE.

JOE: STOP SHOUTING!

A group of us visited with the Honda engineers in Japan in June. Tell your dealer to shut the hell up until they know what they are talking about, because we got it straight from the horse's mouth that what the dealer told you is absolutely false.

Based on that incredibly false statement, I'd go another dealer that doesn't feed you b.s. If this dealer lied about that, what else are they lying about?

sorry about the shouting

I am a drafter and I write in caps all day so I usually always forget the cap lock on.

Joe,

Years ago when I lived in Marine Park, I purchased an Accord from them. My sister in-law who had never bought a car went there without me and came to my house with a receipt and said that the salesman would let her change it (for options) later on and start over. Net is they wanted to charge her list for all of them.

Before I started talking to them I asked if delivery was a problem and the salesman said no there were plenty on the lot. That is where I got him. They can only keep the deposit if they can prove they were damaged. Being they had "plenty" on the lot they could not say they lost a sale.

I ended up in the managers office and he called me "sonny", I then called him an old man and he threatened to hit me. I told him that I would be ok with that and would put my hands behind my back for him, and would end up with a free car after I ended up suing them.

In the end, she got 20% off all of the options, but it wasn't easy.
