If you lived where it snows and could only have only one of these options what would it be?

1. s2k that would not see snow or rain + a POS 4 door, not to exceed $2000, to run around in when the wheather sucks

2. 2002 Acura TL-S

I was actually in the same boat, sort of. I have an s2k, and needed a 4 door for a daddymobile. I <cough> TRIED to get a TL type S, but when I explained all of the cool stuff the type S has over the regular TL, my wife simply said, "Um, honey? YOU HAVE AN S2K IN THE GARAGE!" <mutter> I lost all bargaining power.

Anyway, assuming you don't have kids, get the s2k and the beater. I love my s2k, and wouldn't trade it for anything reasonable (a 360 Modena, 911 turbo, Boxster S straight up, sure). But then again, what would you expect from someone on the s2k board?

I had a CL type S before the S2k. It is a great car!! However, it is nothing like the S2k. Each excels in it's own arena. Get the CL (or TL) for comfort, straight line performance, and roominess. It is a great daily driver. The S2k is small, harder to drive, less comfortable, and not a good daily driver. And I absolutely love it!

I'm considering a TL type S as a daily driver, with the S2k for weekends!

Wrong!

The SO2s aren't winter tires. Put MZ01s on an S2000, and you'll be delighted. Add a hardtop (electric rear defrosted glass window) to complete the transition.

I don't have a type-s, but I have nothing but praise for the TL. Great car, great price point, and really practical. After all those points, its still a great car to drive too. It is extremely comfortable, and with my mods on my TL, it handles like a charm!

THAT BEING SAID, THE S2000 IS IN A CLASS ALL ITS OWN!!! But if i had to pick, especially for snow etc... I think I'd go for the TL-S. (Lucky for me I already have my two cars...no more new cars for me for like 10 yrs according to my wife)

SO2 are good wet condition tires. In Canada we don't have the hardtop yet. People are still waiting for it. Plus it only comes in Yellow. There is no seat warmer or defrost etc.

RacerX:
The Type-S is a dynamically safer car because of the VSA. It's ok to have the TL-S even if you have an S2000. Life is short, enjoy it if you can!

My other car is 1991 infiniti Q45 ,a great luxury-sport-sedan which I greatly enjoy. If I had to get a another sedan (even though the Q is dead reliable ), My first test drive would be the TL-S . The only negative aspect is the engine driving the "wrong" wheels . I can almost taste an AWD TL-S . This will be the killer which acura should create and soon.
