s2k trannies are no good ???
I just read S4mike's thread, and found out that a lot of s2k's have tranny failures....is this true???
I was very close to actually getting a s2k (went to a dealer and was trading in my CL-S, got a trade in value..etc...) I told him I need some time to think about it a little....I don't want to trade one weak tranny for another???
S4Mike...how's that S4 holdin up, S4 or 350Z were my other choices next to the s2k....

People tend to be more negative on this site but a lot of owners have no problems at all with their trannies. Just get the extended warrantee and be happy. The 350Z migh tbe nice but then again untested and might have a lot of bugs in the first year.
if you don't mind me askin how much did you get for ur trade in value? I have a 2001 CL-type S, navi, about 7,030 miles, and the guy said the value is gonna be close to 25g's...
i am also curious about are the honda dealers "mod friendly". i just ordered a hks exhaust for my s2000, and want to know if most dealers or all dealers will screw with me because i got an exhaust?

It really depends what dealer you go to. Down here in So Cal, there is a dealer that will install the supercharger, and give youa warranty for it. Other dealers aren't so generous.

I believe what happens is that part of the warranty is voided. For example, if you had an exhaust and your clutch died, the dealer would still replace it under warranty as the exhaust has nothing to do with your clutch dieing. People only post when their car has a problem. This isn't really indicative of how many cars as a % of the total have tranny problems. So I say go for it. Good luck
