What a bad start to my week. I came out to my car this morning and found some asshole(s) had keyed my entire left door and put a hole on my soft top and back window. Mother f'ers can burn in HELL!
Will be meeting with the insurance adjuster tomorrow morning. Car will be in the shop for a while for paint work and soft top replacement. This comes during the worst timing as I was planning to attend the Fall Colors 2002 this weekend. Now I can't go. SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!!!
Since the entire top needs to be replaced anyway, I'm thinking about having the body shop replace the soft top with a 2002 top w/ glass window. Has anyone done this before or know of any conversion conflicts? cost difference?
not that i want to plug best buy just cuz i work there, but we can install a great alarm if that is what you are looking for. i am an installer from 384 ithaca ny. if you go in ask for a motion sensor.
ttyl and good luck
The ignorance of some people is astonishing! To trash someone's ride like that is COWARD-ASS! Here's hoping that somewhere down the road the jackass responsible will get it back ten-fold.
I had my top replaced with a 2002 top and glass window. Best thing I ever did for the car! There was some minor modification to the frame, but the cost to replace the top with the 02 top should be about the same for the top as the 00 or 01 top. Mine was done through Menlo Honda in Redwood City, CA.
I had my 2001 top replaced with a 2002 after it got slashed, on eimea's recommendation, no less. You'll have to pay for the difference, but it's only about $250.
im sorry to hear that this happened to you. When the 5th generation preludes first came out, i had my car all fixed up and done while i had the paper plates still on it and someone keyed the whole thing. jealous !*$#-ers anyway i kno how you feel, sorry to hear about it. it'll come back to whoever did it (and at LEAST you get a glass rear window now), the guy who keyed my car happened to have a fifth gen also and he keyed it out of jealously, anyway he got in a car accident and now he drives a four door 96 four door civic.
Sorry to hear the pain. I've been having problems with bastards stealing the emblems off my car. They leave nice big key scratch and dent marks where the emblem used to be too. Nothing like the damage on your car which surely makes me angry aswel. Good luck...
That really bites. If I were you, I would only have them repaint the door only. They will want to blend into the fender & quarter pannel, (x-tra $$ for them) The difference should not be almost invisable if they use factory paint. (Just my $0.02) If you own your car oughtright, I would take the $$$ for the softtop and get a Hard top. But that's just me.
