Does a 1999 S2000 exist, I thought a 2000 model was the first year.
In foreign markets (well, "foreign" to us), 1999 was indeed the first model year. (Look at his flag.)

It is a 2000 model year - but could have been built in 1999.

This sounds very familiar. If tire pressures are off by 2PSI the car will behave as described. Also, the S gets vague and loves to wander when tread hits the wear bar.

Thanks for all the replies!

I haven't checked the tire pressures yet because the tires are filled with nitrogen and so they need to be refilled at a specialized service station. I'll look into that this weekend.

The tires are worn, although not to the point that they should be replaced. That doesn't help handling of course :-) I guess the handling problems are caused by a combination of the above.

The car has a registration date of October '99 (and was sold on that date), so I guess that makes it a 2000 model. Perhaps S2000s were sold a bit earlier overseas.

It doesn't require anything special to check your pressure. Just to add nitrogen. I think nitrogen inflation is a scam. I also don't see why you couldn't just add air.

Hmm, were you told the tires were inflated with nitrogen as a way to jack up the price on you?

As others have said, forget the nitrogen thing and just use regular air if one of them is low.
