Which s2k would you buy?
Hey guys,
I'm finally in a position where I am actively looking for a s2000 which has been my dream car for 10 years. I've been kicking myself for not buying an s2000 before they got discontinued/during the financial crises. As much as I love s2000's, my blood boils when I see 14 year old ap1's for $20k+ asking prices!
I'm currently considering these two s2000s very seriously, just wanted to see what the s2ki community would choose between the these two s2k's:
2004 NFR asking $18,000:
2008 Chicane Silver/black interior asking $22,000:
Personally I'm leaning towards the NFR because its substantially cheaper and it has all of the mods that I eventually would buy. But the chicane silver is SO CLEAN! I plan on keeping whichever S I buy forever, so buying a newer and cleaner s2k could be smart long-term.
What would you do? Please vote and leave your comments below! Thanks!

2004 NFR asking $18,000:
- 46,000 miles
- coilovers/intake/exhaust
- RPF1's
- NFR OEM Hardtop
- Looks really clean (no accidents, etc)
- comes with all stock parts
- To be honest NFR isn't my favorite color
2008 Chicane Silver/black interior asking $22,000:
- 15,000 miles
- 2 owners/clean autocheck
- looks new

First off, both sound like excellent deals (though I'd prefer pictures!) *And this is assuming they are both in very good to excellent condition, based on their mileage.* I am skeptical about the NFR though, especially as I don't have much to go on.
I'd take the 2004 NFR for $18,000 with the OEM hardtop-- $3,000 value alone w/ OEM hardware. Assuming it is actually in very good condition, and has tasteful coilovers, exhaust, no stupid Ebay body kit, etc. etc. If you can send me a link to the NFR, I'd be very interested
$22,000 for the 2008 would be the safer vote though, because it is presumably in excellent condition and is presumably 100% stock--or close enough.

You want the virgin or the naughty red head?
That NFR with a hardtop... Oh man, would I love to have a hard top.... But considering that the NFR is not stock, but comes with all original parts I wouldn't pass this one up since the modifications are reversible.
However, I'd go with the 2008; it has 15k miles on it. I'd rather have red than silver, but the 15k miles is hard to beat. Its newer, lower mileage. The 2004, meh. Just walk away before you get tempted to ride the naughty red head. The 2008 is pure, she'll make a great wife.

I think you answered your own question pdj. I would add that the addition of some features on the '08 that weren't available on the '04 would be a determining factor. Such as the VSA. To me it's a valuable asset.
