S2k'ers in H-town sucks.
Please forgive me if i'm wrong, but... aren't convertibles supposed to be driven top down?
Since the s2000 came out, the only s2000's i see on the road in houston are those with the top up.
I repeat, i have not yet seen ONE top down. EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS PERFECT. (it looks so fugly with the top up)
I'm sorry if i'm offending you but, i think whoever those people are should consider another car, unless the VTEC's the only reason you are buying it.
driving away as fast i can now, so i won't be flamed

Isn't it possible that it could be too hot to drive with the top down? I'm sure that was possibly the case with the owners who happened to have their tops up when you spotted them. Or...maybe not.
its hot, but when you get used to it, its not as bad as you think.
And plus.. i see mustangs with their top down all the time. Same with sc430's and any other convertible. Just not the s2k.. maybe the AC system isnt that great?

I can't speak for Houston, but I just recently started driving top up on really hot days.
I bought this car specifically because I am in a school that requires LOTS of driving, for 2 years straight [and the driving has just begun].
It's a 2.5 hour drive one way from Fullerton to my home in Hollywood. Over 100 miles round trip.
2.5 hours in traffic, with the sun beating down on my head, was pretty uncomfortable. I also use a hat, which is nice for keeping the sun off my face, but it makes my head even hotter.
If I'm driving non-stop for over an hour, and it's mid 80's or higher, I'll be top up, windows down.
