Ouch My S2k got hit in the same area by a little old lady in a big new SUV who didn't use her mirror... that hit is one of the most painful to look at because it totally kills the S2k's lines.

I hope that the structural damage is to a minimum and you get her all fixed up like new soon. It looks like it'll be spendy, but they'll get it done, I'm sure I've seen cars that were trashed harder get rebuilt.

For the headlight assembly you're probably best to get on ebay and find a set. The aftermarket/oem that the body shop ordered for a single headlight was $500, the HID bulb was listed at $200, etc. Doing your homework will pay off for you. Who did the police cite as at fault? What insurance company?

Well, if you get cash from insurance, the cost will most certainly allow you to buy aftermarket... the cost of one Honda OEM fender will get you a pair of carbon fiber fenders; the cost of an OEM hood (don't know what shape yours is in but it looks like it's repairable) will cover a carbon replacement; etc. You could get plenty of different aftermarket bumpers, or maybe get a CR bumper... oh, and if our wheel is that F'ed up, they'll write the strut off. One OEM Honda strut will come close to a whole set of coilovers!

The rims are one of the best things to cash out since they estimate them at about $550 each, which right there is the cost of a whole set of ROTA 17-inch wheels.

There's a ton of stuff you can do. Getting hit sucks, but it can, paradoxically, be a gateway into better things!

Will the body shop work with me on these things? I mean the car is paid off and i should get the check but im worried if i just take the first check they cut i may run into other problems that would cost more and they wont be to supportive of it..

^ it helps if you know the owner of the body shop. A lot of shop owners are willing to work with you.

this may sound odd but i hate looking at crashed s2000s. It just looks really odd the way the head lights were designed. It just looks more damaged than it really is. I find it interesting to look at other cars that are totalled though...

it must just be me...
