I think for those who think 50K is not enough for someone our age to get the S2000 need to see the world from our perspective.

We have no kids.

For about $7000 less, or around $25,000 you could buy an NSX, 1991!

You must have some cool parents...even if my Dad could afford to buy me a S2000 it would be a cold day in hell before that happened...I don't think I would want him too anyway....

What does an 18 year old know about making money and budgeting in the real world... especially one whose parents most likely puts up for all your expenses including a luxury item like a 33K car?

You have nothing to feel sorry about! You've not lost anything. Not only that, I commend you on your level headness. Few people your age consider these things before making large purchases. Look, you've made the best investment one could ever make..........YOURSELF. DO NOT REGRET your choice. It is the right one period. One of these days you'll probally be owning one of these boards and could afford to own anything you want! Don't discount the Type R. I owned one. They're a wonderful performance automobile probally more in your price range at this time.

Eather way, pat yourself on the back I for one am very proud of you. You have done well!! I know what I'm talking about I've got two older than you! Proud of them also.

Hang in there and be patient. Sometimes it's worth the wait! I still tell my son, "in you I am well pleased!" Remember that!!

So I have parents that spoil me...does that make me any lesser of a person? I may only be 18 (almost 19!), but age is only a number...it doesn't mean that I don't know how to budget whatever money I do have. Just because money I spend may be my parents' doesn't mean that I spend stupidly and without care. Open up your mind a little, I was just giving my opinion on the situation.

Lighten up! I think he's doing a pretty good if his parents trust him with this type of investment. Agreed! It's not worth the argument anyway! He's doing it and his opinion and perspective is just as important as yours or mine! (No offense intended!)

I'm 23 and the S is all I've been dreaming about for about the last six months. After I finally got mine (new for 32500k at that!!) two weeks ago, I have never been more happy. I make 40k, still taking college courses and help my parents out with a little rent every month, but I can still scrape by with $600 payments, and $220 for inusrance. I just go out less, party less, and do not buy anything else, clothes, toys, etc. Nothing but the car and it was well worth it. I love my baby and you can't compare driving a civic SI to the S. My friend has one and its a world of difference. If your going to buy something, get what you want or you might regret it, especially such an important purchase as an automobile. Do it before your too old. Wasn't it everybody's dream to have a badass car when your young and in your twenties?
