Safe to Drive in the Snow?
yo lostwaffle. i made a similar post about two months ago regarding my experience. you can research back for it but here's the jist:
i live in the northeast and the area got nailed with a winter mix of sleet, freezing rain and light snow (no accumulation for the snow) so road conditions were slick. my s has only stock tires so i found myself driving home in this mess. with the exception of a small incident, not only did i make it home with little difficulty but i also drove several miles out of my way to pick up a pizza at domino's. i also drive my s in cold temperatures with no problems. of course it would be more practical to drive a 4wd vehicle during the winter but in my opinion, it's your call regarding whether you feel comfortable driving your s in less than ideal conditions.

Well, we get a fair amount of snow in these parts and I've got three decades of experience driving in it. With proper tires designed for cold temperatures (many inexperienced folks simply think it's a matter of tread design which quantifies a snow tire but the rubber needs to be designed for cold temps) and skilled driving, the S2000 can be a full season automobile but anyone who thinks it's suitable for driving in winter-conditions with the stock tires must make really short trips to the grocery store.
It is not. It's as simple as that.

Seriously, I couldn't get mine out of the garage! We had about 4 inches of snow and somehow I made a little pile with the shovel in the path of the car. I backed it out, up an incline of about 10 degrees, and when the front wheel caught the pile, that was it. Nothing but spinning.
I have driven on clear roads at around freezing and the tires still gripped, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I know what you mean.....the sun was too hot to take the s2k out! lol (sorry....I'm originally from NY Sate, but I had to get that dig in!!)
I'm worrying about too much dust 'cause the top is always down!!
PS: The Superbowl is in San Diego this year...why don't some of you snowbirds drive your s2k's to SD for the game!! (no, I don't have tix). lol
