Default "safe" to rev higher

same video of the spoon 2.2l car.

but for many of you who doubt that it's safe for the f22c to rev higher than 8k, mr. spoon says it ought to be safe up to 8600.

i highly recommend the ap1 ecu to go with the f22c for this application.

So you're saying that Ap2s can safely rev to 8500 or 8600 over the course of several years?

Ah there's the catch. "Over the course of years". You see Spoon probably doesn't care because heck, they can rebuild the motor after every race if they want (and probably do).

For street applications, we need a reliable powerplant over the long-haul. I think Honda was hedging their bets a bit by lowering the F22C redline, but I bet it reduced the number of blown engine claims for the warranty department.

I am actually doing that lol. I am running my 02 ecu (for now) ( should run 00-01 as those ecu's run a lil richer) with the F22c engine. I had a little trouble with the F20c engine in my ap1 so I swapped it out for the F22c engine. I should get the car back today or tomorrow at the latest and 8600 rpms is where i'm cutting it at.

Its not like we red-line it everyday. I'll take it up there every so often but mostly crusing so i think that the engine will last just as long as any other.

didn't i say repost in the OP?

in the bigger picture, ask yourself if you could enjoy reving hgher, but had to replace the engine earlier, would you? replacement parts are relatively inexpensive for this car. it's somewhat similar to would you live longer, but your life would be less interesting.

piston speed is the same in the ap2 at about 8600 if i remember right, but that doesnt necessarily mean engine stresses are the same.

but i wouldn't mind it. you only live once, and it's not like you're turning 20% overspeed.
