Safety First! Please be careful when working on your car!
I was prepping my 2001 Focus ZX3 (daily driver + crap car) for its first oil change... jacked it up with a hydrolic floor jack... and was lowering it down onto the jack stand... I had my hand on the stand and was positioning it under the car's frame lift point...
...and set the car down on the jackstand with my finger in between... needless to say, the finger is totally crushed (2500lbs will do that).
Please think and don't hurry! Be safe.

The hardest part was fumbling around with the floor jack (with one hand) with the other hand pinned under the car... I grabbed a handful of ice, jumped into the Stook and drove ~100mph in a residential neighborhood (fish-tailing) trying to get to the ER (I ran a bunch of red lights too). I had no one to drive me... and I did panic... my hands mean a lot to me and my hobbies.
Hopefully I get to keep the finger and will still be able to count to 10.
Be careful out there!!

I cringe just reading this post. I hope your finger is OK, i can't imagine how that must've felt. You can be sure that i'll be careful in the future. Keep us posted on your stat.
