car is fairly safe from all the crashes i have seen and if you dont actually drive this car you will end up in a curb or worse it isnt a evo or some other car that basicly is error proof i would write more but its 5 and im tired as heck

We've had more than a couple of members roll their cars without anything more than a scratch or two on themselves.

I know of at least one member that has been hit by a truck and survived.

here is some info on euro crash testing

Yes the rear end can lose grip easily in certain conditions, but many accidents in this car could have been prevented by driving to the conditions and appropriate speed limits.

Top being closed has little to do with it.
There is a tendency for the car to balance on the windscreen and the bonnet and therefore keep occupants off the ground.

just watch out when the roads are slippery.... e.g. rain/snow/mist.. other than that, nothing to worry about.

there were 2 recent threads where people lost control of the car on canyon roads because of bad gravel or whatever, and they ended up flipping the car. with the top down, both of them went down embankments, landed upside down, had passengers as well, and all of them walked away with scratches. so in a roll over, top up or down won't matter. you can have the top down just fine. this is because the car lands on the re-inforced a-pillar (windshield frame) and the roll bars. the car was designed for that, and as seen from some of the pics of how these guys rolled their cars, it is a testament to that safety feature of the car.

safety wise, the car is actually probably more safe than most coupes, and has excellent safety ratings, acheiving the maximum ratings in both front, rear, side, and front offset collisions. (you can read about honda's safety testing in daniel f carney's book)

so crash wise, the car is probably more safe than many you encounter on the road, largely in part due to honda's safety engineering.

as for stability, that depends on the driver. even systems with vdc and such do no good with a bad driver. the car is not as forgiving as some if you push it hard, though the 04-05 models are a bit more "idiot proof" so to speak.

If you drive with respect to the conditions you will not have a problem in any situation unless it

The best way to operate the S2000 is to drive way beyond you skill and experience, go too fast into a corner, panic and lift off the gas. The S2000 will detect this situation and activate the Onboard Heuristic Stability/Hydroplane Intervention Technology (OHSHIT) system. You
