Default Said Goodbye to My S2K This Morning

Well, as some of you know, I live in Manhattan, NYC. I got sick of sitting out the winter fun upstate and in Vermont, and got sick of my valet garage dinging my doors and bumpers, and got sick of cabs sideswiping me, and got the bug for a new rig, so I bought a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport and took delivery of the Jeep last week. I can't keep two cars in the city (parking is $375/month), so...something had to give.

This morning I put my S2000 on a flatbed to a terminal in New Jersey, where it will be shipped by truck to Seattle. I'm giving the car to my mother (lucky Mom!) for good keeping, as I can't stomach the thought of losing this beautiful, amazing car forever.

As soon as I get my own house with a garage, I'll be reunited with my S2000. Until then...it's sad to see her go. Shed a tear for one of the original S2k's, but she'll be back!

Good for you for keeping it in the family. Its sad when someone has to let one of these babies go.
You're lucky to have a place to stash it.

Say goodbye - but know you will be reunited!

Hockey

p.s. Have her cover it up!

Wow you really made a change. S2k to Jeep. Well I kind of went the opposite, Jeep to S2k, still kind of miss the jeep though. Wish I could have the best of both worlds but my pocketbook wouldn't allow it either.

I can't blame you. NY can knock the shit out of any vehicle. If I were you, I'd weld on some iron plates to run along the side of the Jeep to prevent dings. Hah,...A friend of mine is from NY and has a Chevy Blazer. One day I noticed that his receiver was stuck in the trailer hitch sticking way out. When I asked why, he simply said, "If someone backs into me in a parked space, then HE gets 'gutzed.'"

Yep. My Jeep will be plenty armored-up. Rail sliders aren't just for rocks, you know. Plus, the next cabbie that sideswipes me in traffic, I'll throw my winch around his tow-hook and drag his ass to the police precinct.

That's very cool that it's going to your mom. I stayed in Manhattan a couple weeks ago and kept thinking about how horrible it would be to have my car there. Good luck.
