Your friend would have to register with the forums and pay for membership. Only paid members can sell items and I don't think they allow friends selling items for other friends.

Did you miss this?

If he wants to sell here then get a membership. Not sure how it can be any more straightforward. If the admins were okay with people bypassing that rule then why would the rule be in place to begin with?

Your "friend" wouldn't happen to be a Nigerian Prince?

And isn't it worth a $20 membership to be able to sell a $2k+ hardtop (ok, I'll give you $1500)? It would cost you more to list on a classified ad section of a newspaper that would have less than 5% of the interested parties than this forum.

Get with the program and buy a membership. I don't even have anything to sell and the value of the membership is worth it just for the common experience, advice, and great tips.

First post, no registration, "asking for a friend" - do you think this is a bit suspicious? Do you want me to send funds to a bank in Nigeria?
