Sampsonite Suitcase Serendipity
I didn't think there was any way it would fit, but I pulled the spare tire out, and it dropped right in. The fit is so tight that it will only go in one way, with the rounded top of the case in the forward bulkhead indentation, while the bottom of the case hangs up on the rear wall unless you pick the suitcase up slightly. There is absolutely no way that the suitcase will shift during travel, it's as close to a press fit as you can get while being absolutely livable and easy to load. I think maybe this is the suitcase the S2000 trunk was designed around.
The great news is that, even though I got mine over 10 years ago, they still make them! They have 'em in red, black, blue, orange, aqua? ...I even saw a yellow one for sale. Mine (a black one) has held up very well, the wheels haven't fallen off, the interior is the same as it was when I got it, and all of the latches and handles still work. I guess if I hadn't been lugging it all over the place for the last 13 years I wouldn't have tried to stuff it into the trunk at all, but I wasn't leaving it at home, it looked silly in the passenger seat, and my better judgment got in the way of lashing it to the top.
Anyhow, that's maybe too much hooting over a suitcase, but it was amazing how precisely it fit, and I'm happy to tell the wife that she won't have to pack a duffel bag after all.
A search for oyster suitcase in google will turn up specs, prices, and pictures if you want. It's a pretty basic but very tough hard side suitcase with wheels on the corner, three latches, and two handles (one for lifting, and one for pulling). They may have updated it over the years, so you'll probably want to test fit before you buy, but the pictures look just like what I've got.

Yeah, that's the one. I took a few pictures of the suitcase in the trunk this evening, but couldn't get the pictures to paste in. You're not missing much, just a picture of a black suitcase in the charcoal trunk of a Yellow car...
