Sat. Jul 29th,a day to remember...God was watching
Brian,
Sorry to read your story, but glad you're OK. I guess you got bit by the behavior of the new rubber. Likely you just weren't used to it yet.
I hope it all turns out OK. Insurance will surely pay for most of the damage (or total it), but you'll get slammed big time for future payments.

this seems to be a common story for S2K owners... I just bought mine, and i'm always worried about something like this happening.. even during normal driving conditions.. my cousin totalled his and so did a friend of mine.... worrisome

Brian,
Every time someone posts like this and admits a mistake, there are folks out there who somehow feel a need to tell you you're stupid and unworthy to drive an S.
Please ignore them.
Look at this as a learning experience and not a bad thing. As you've learned, you should never push the limits of your hardware (especially after changing something) on public roads.
Best wishes, and I hope you get your S back soon.

Brian, I wouldn't get too worried about anything anyone says on here.. Lots of teenagers who don't even own S2000's will chime in with all kinds of opinions, if you post up about a single car accident, regardless of the causes, you will get flamed.
If you would like my opinion, the newness of your tires and the reduction in stagger from the stockers changed the handling characteristics-- decreased the at the limit grip and added a bit of oversteer, and what you thought was operation at 7/10 was closer to 10/10. Ouch!
Just be thankful that you and your friend walked away unscathed. Avoid a next time by toning it down a bit on the streets and always familiarize yourself with any changes to the tires/suspension by testing the limits somewhere devoid of telephone poles, drop offs, guardrails, and other cars.
Cheers,
Mike
